January 21st: Course Selections close in Skyward
*All Course Selections must be made on or before January 21st, 2026
Step 1: Review 2026-2027 7th Grade Course Selection Presentation
Step 2: Enter Course Requests into Skyward
There is no advantage to making selections quickly - Skyward will close on Wednesday, January 21.
Course Selections are NOT first come, first serve. We do not guarantee elective requests. You may make changes as many times as needed up until the day Skyward closes.
Skyward Course Request Instructions
Students-Log into Skyward through LHUB.
Step 1- Choose Schedule tab on the left side of the page.
Step 2- Choose Request Courses for 2026-2027 in Lamar MS on the right side of the page.
You should now see all of the courses available for next school year.
You can click on the courses to get a brief course description.
To choose a course, you will click and highlight your choice, then click Add Course. This should move the course to the right-hand column.
If you need to edit a course. You may click on the course to edit and click Remove Course. This will move the course back to the left-hand column.
Make sure to request:
4 core courses (ELA, Math, Science, and Contemporary World)
1 PE course (Athletics, Physical Education, or Tennis)
Study Skills 7
2 additional elective requests (1 fine art if not taken in 6th grade)
Step 3- Click on Request Alternates at the top to add 3 alternative elective courses.
You may change the level of priority by clicking on the arrow to move alternatives up or down in priority.
Skyward will work through core courses first and then will work through Elective choices 1-6. To maximize the opportunity to get courses you like, make sure you have chosen 3 alternatives.
Step 3: Complete Course Selection Google Form
The Course Selection Google Form is required to help verify all course selections and level of student interest, as well as serve as a reference during one-on-one meetings with students. This is not a second chance to change your mind on elective choices. The selections made in Skyward and the Google Form should match.
