Counselor's Role 

The Garden Ridge Elementary (GRE) counselor, Mrs. Mennsfield, works to create an environment where students feel empowered and safe at school each day by working with students individually, in groups, and through guidance to give them the tools they need to be successful in their daily lives, academically and socially.

Leadership and Advocacy 

Mrs. Mennsfield is a member of multiple administrative and leadership committees on campus, including the Building Leadership Team (BLT), Team Leaders Committee, Gifted and Talented Committee, Section 504 Committee, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports Committee (MTSS).  By serving on these committees, the counselor advocates for all students and their social emotional needs.  Mrs. Mennsfield presents to parents in coordination with campus administration at Counselor's Corner meetings each semester.  The GRE counselor previously served as the TSCA Elementary Vice President and presented at TSCA Professional Growth Conferences. She received the Rhosine Fleming Elementary School Counselor of the Year award for 2019-20.
