McKinley Clark Barnes
McKinley Clark graduated from Flower Mound High School in 2013, but her passion for caring for children and serving those who are less fortunate started long before graduation. As a sophomore in high school, McKinley visited Lusaka, Zambia with a local non-profit and realized she had a love for the orphaned and vulnerable children who called Zambia their home. After returning to Texas, McKinley raised over $130,000 to build a house for the children who were so desperately lacking life’s basic essentials. The house opened in July of 2014, and was named Kyle's House, after her father who passed away in 2009. Countless children have called Kyle's House their home, and it is still open today. It continues to provide children with comfort, stability and a sense of family, all while teaching them about the love of Jesus.
McKinley attended Texas A&M University, was actively involved in her sorority, was selected to serve as a Muster Host, and volunteered as a mentor for the Boys and Girls Club in Bryan, TX. She also spent each summer in Zambia, serving the children she came to know and love so many years before. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 2017 with a degree in Sociology, McKinley was hired by the same non-profit she first visited Zambia with. She continued her work, collectively spending months overseas, helping to provide academic, spiritual, physical and emotional care to the children of Lusaka. Currently, McKinley would say that the life she is building with her husband and their kids is her greatest joy.
