The Texas Bluebonnet Award is a program that encourages students in grades 3-6 to read for pleasure. 20 books are chosen by a selection committee and put on the Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List every year. Both fiction and non-fiction books are included on the list and a variety of literature is represented.

Students who read (or have read aloud to them) a minimum of five books from the current master list are eligible to vote for their favorite book in January each year. The book that receives the most votes from students across Texas is the winner of the Texas Bluebonnet Award!
