Leader: Orlaith McHugh
Contact: mchughorlaith@gmail.com

Activity Information:
Individual classical violin lessons for all levels, tailored to each child’s pace. Students also learn music theory and how to read music. Lessons are suitable for children aged 7 and up.
Aside from the joy that comes with learning how to play a musical instrument, it teaches much more than music. It develops many valuable life skills such as creativity, confidence building, listening skills, patience, perseverance, problem solving, time management, and so much more. Beginner students begin with a program I like to call ‘A Journey to Twinkle’, focusing on violin basics and the gradual learning process towards playing their first song, ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’.
There are plans for an end-of-term performance as part of the course, which will give students a chance to share their progress and play together.
Cost: 30-minute lessons at 250kr (+ moms) per week.
Instrument and lesson materials: Students should source and bring their own violin to the lessons. It is possible to rent a violin from Göteborgs Stad for 350kr per term at the following link:
Lesson material such as sheet music will be provided for the first term.
About me:
I am a professional classical violinist and teacher from Ireland, holding Master’s degrees in violin and symphonic orchestra performance from MTU Cork School of Music and the University of Gothenburg. I perform regularly with leading orchestras and ensembles in Sweden, including the Gothenburg Oboe Quartet, and am passionate about teaching and sharing my love of music in a fun and rewarding way.
