Rajasree (Raji) Swaminathan

I have been teaching Physical Science at The Harker School in San Jose, CA, for 25 years. Before this, I earned an advanced engineering degree from Pennsylvania State University and worked in the liquid nitrogen and oxygen division of an industrial gases company in New Jersey.

Passionate about visual arts, I spend my free time drawing and painting. My teaching integrates science, engineering, narratives, and art, making abstract science concepts accessible and engaging. I prioritize addressing diverse learning styles through lectures, experiments, stories, and art, and I believe strongly in empowering children in STEAM education from a young age. This philosophy inspired my YouTube channel, Atom's Adventure Stories, and my illustrated science books.

I have shared my work at the ChemEd conference in Canada (2023) and the ICCE conference in Thailand (2024).
