Meet Mr. K-W!
Greetings!
I am Mr. Kilgore-Wilson (“Mr. K-W”). I am excited to begin my third year teaching. This year I am teaching Human Geography, WWII in the Cinema, The History of the United States Post-War, and Freshman Success. I am thrilled to be a part of the GTCHS community and your student’s educational journey!
I was born and raised here in Greenville, S.C.
I graduated from Southside High School in 2019! I then went to Winthrop University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Educational Studies in 2023. Ten days after I graduated from Winthrop, I began my Masters Degree. I earned my Masters in Teaching & Learning from Clemson University December of 2024 (Go Tigers!)
During the 2023-2024 school year, I taught High School Psychology and Sociology at a local charter school. Afterwards, I took a *mini* break from full-time teaching and completed a teacher practicum at Greenville High School. This decision was primarily due to completing my Masters Program and getting my initial certification. I am excited to be back in my own classroom!
My educational philosophy is based around one truth: ALL students are capable of learning. ALL students want to be successful. However, it takes the care, compassion, and support of the teacher to help students realize and unlock their potential. I take the role as your student’s teacher seriously!
If you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns, never hesitate to reach out!
