Joanna Howard Science Teacher Greenville Technical Charter High School
My name is Joanna Howard and I am a science teacher here at GTCHS. This is my eleventh year teaching at GTCHS and my fourteenth year teaching in total.
Here at Charter, I teach Biology and Marine Biology, sponsor the GTCHS Academic Team, the Science Exploration Club, and serve on the GTCHS Senior Project Committee.
When I'm not in my classroom, you can generally find me playing with my two children, planting flowers in my yard, reading a good book, or listening to some live music with family or friends! I am so excited for the upcoming school year I look forward to getting to know all my new students and their families. Please feel free to reach out any time to contact me -- email is generally the best way!
I found my way into K12 teaching through a non-traditional pathway and am trained as a field herpetologist and aquatic ecologist with an emphasis on quantitative ecology and environmental statistical modeling.
I graduated from Furman University with a B.S. in Biology, and obtained my Masters and Ph.D. at Clemson University in the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences.
