December 4–10 marks Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) 2017. This week is designed to raise awareness of computing in our global society and to promote computer science education at all education levels. It is celebrated annually during the week of Dec. 9 to mark the birthday of Admiral "Amazing" Grace Murray Hopper, a pioneer in computer programming whose contributions led to the development of COBOL, one of the first modern computer languages. COBOL is an acronym for Common Businesss Oriented Language.
