COVID Precautions

• Season reduced to about 6 weeks (versus about 10 weeks).

• Practices limited to 1 hour duration; Meets limited to 4 meets. As a result of limited practice time, athletes will be encouraged to practice outside formal team practices if possible.

• Masks worn anytime not actively participating in a practice drill or participating in an event at meets.

• Social distancing during both practices and meets when not actively participating in practice drills or events at meets.

• Hand sanitizer applied immediately prior to and after handling any equipment such as baton, discus, shot put, etc.

• All equipment sanitized after use immediately prior to and following practices and meets.

• Attendance taken at all practices and meets to support COVID contact tracing.

• COVID notification and quarantine process in place should any team members or immediate family become infected.

2021 Practice Schedule & Locations

All practices will occur, weather permitting, in the STAA parking lot / playground behind the school. Specific practice schedule is below, but is subject to change with advanced notice. If a practice is cancelled due to weather, an email will be sent to parents as soon as possible prior to practice time.

Important! There will be no access to STAA facilities including bathrooms during practices. Please ensure your child dresses for the weather, brings water, face mask, and if needed, a light snack.

Week 1: Wednesday, April 14 5:30pm - 6:30pm & Friday, April 16 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Week 2: Wednesday, April 21 5:30pm - 6:30pm & Friday, April 23 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Week 3: Tuesday, April 27 5:30pm - 6:30pm & Friday, April 30 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Week 4: Monday, May 3 5:30pm - 6:30pm & Tuesday, May 4 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Week 5: Wednesday, May 12 5:30pm - 6:30pm & Friday, May 14 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Week 6: Tuesday, May 18 5:30 - 6:30 & Wednesday, May 19 5:30 - 6:30
Week 7: Monday, May 24 5:30 - 6:30 & Tuesday, May 25 5:30 - 6:30

Week 7 Note: these practices will be held only if there's a meet taking place last weekend of May (Memorial Day) and we have enough families participating. Otherwise one of these dates will be our end of season celebration!
