Due to the complexity of Enrichment Week planning and wanting to give parents time to save up, St Andrew's plans the annual Enrichment Week in September each year. This causes some issues as we can not book certain activities or events that far in advance due to a variety of reasons. To not limit the offering, we plan to run trips on set days, however if we can not get the bookings on that exact day, we will run the trip before Enrichment Week and then do a similar activitiy onsite during Enrichment Week when the students booked to go. This year this trips include:
Each year, the London shows for the summer come out in January. Not all shows run each day of the week.
In January, when the summer tickets are live, the students going will vote out of 3 or 4 shows available. As we went to see Wicked last year, this will not be one of the options. If we can not secure tickets on the chosen show on the Tuesday, we will run the trip the week before. They will then do an alternative Arts day onsite in Enrichment Week.
Bookings for the summer term to the Houses of Parliament do not open until January. If we are unable to secure the correct date for Enrichment Week, students will spend the day in school exploring the UK political and criminal justice systems through a range of fun activities, with the trip taking place on an alternative date. These activities will include the interactive online game "MP for a Week" and tasks where students will have the chance to preside over their own criminal case studies.
The students on this activity will also be invited to the Sussex Cricket school event. The date for this is confirmed in the spring term. It normally falls the week before or after Enrichment Week.
