Fabulous Fundraisers – Ellie & Olive, Our Lemonade Superstars!
A huge shout-out to our brilliant Year 5 fundraisers, Ellie and Olive, also known as ‘The Lemon Heads’, who went above and beyond to support St Stephen’s!
During the recent warm weather, Ellie and Olive set up a homemade lemonade stand over two weekends—and it was a huge hit! Their refreshing drinks were just what everyone needed and proved incredibly popular with the local community.
Through their efforts, they raised an amazing £140 for the school! Not only was this a fantastic show of entrepreneurial spirit and generosity, but part of their fundraising also helped to pay for the water at our KS2 Sports Day—a very welcome and thoughtful contribution on such a hot day.
Well done, Ellie and Olive! We are so proud of your initiative, teamwork, and kindness.
Year 5’s Mission to Mars at the Natural History Museum
On Tuesday, our Year 5 students enjoyed an exciting school trip to the Natural History Museum, where they had the opportunity to explore the museum’s fascinating exhibits and uncover new facts about the natural world. The visit was a brilliant way to inspire curiosity and bring classroom learning to life!
A real highlight of the day was the Mission to Mars workshop, where students worked in teams to design and build their very own LEGO rovers. They incorporated unique technologies, programmed algorithms to control their creations, and tested them on a simulated Martian surface.
It was a fantastic hands-on experience that showcased the children’s creativity, teamwork, and their ability to apply knowledge from space science, computing, and design technology in a fun and imaginative way. A truly out-of-this-world trip!
