Stephen’s Community Bike Ride to Bruges Begins!
Pedalling for a Purpose!
This morning at 9am, the whole school gathered to cheer off our 34 amazing parent cyclists as they began their 200-mile journey from London to Bruges! It was a joyful and uplifting send-off, made even more special by the presence of the Mayor of Richmond, who joined us to wish the team well.
The ride is raising funds for several incredible causes, and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored and supported the cyclists so far. Your generosity is helping to support:
FOSS (Friends of St Stephen’s)
The Flying Seagull Project
Richmond Young Carers
The Purple Elephant Project
Moormead Pavilion
We are truly grateful for your support—it means so much to our school and our wider community.
You can continue to sponsor the team on the Just Giving page:

Jersey Design Competition – Congratulations!
The cyclists set off in style, proudly wearing jerseys designed by our talented pupils. A big well done to the winners of our design competition:
Bastian, Tara, Javier, Joseph, Lotte, Eva, Sarah, Lena, and Zac!
Your artwork brought colour and creativity to the ride and has already drawn lots of compliments on the road.
A Circus Surprise!
While the cyclists hit the road, the children back at school enjoyed a special treat—a day of circus skills workshops, topped off with an exciting circus performance at the end of the day! It was a joyful, laughter-filled celebration of community and creativity, and a perfect way to mark the beginning of this special fundraising journey.
We’ll be tracking the team’s progress as they make their way to Bruges. Stay tuned—and once again, thank you for being part of this inspiring community effort!
Thank you to Luigi - for his account of Friday 20th June
The Flying Seagulls is a charity with a heartwarming belief: that every child deserves the right to smile. They visit many refugee camps and countries where the children have experienced traumatising cases such as wars, witnessing death and destruction. Performing shows, these talented individuals have certainly brought smiles to many faces.
Privileged to be visited by them, we were shown various toys and circus equipment, ranging from the mighty stilts to the more lowly hula hoops, fitting for all ages, including an entertaining introduction at the beginning of the session. Personally, this brightened my day and made me strive to be my very best. I thank the Flying Seagulls and the school for giving me such an experience. -Luigi
Twickenham Museum Assembly
This week, we were delighted to welcome representatives from Twickenham Museum for a fascinating whole-school assembly. The children were captivated by stories of local history, from ancient artefacts to legendary figures - history right on our doorstep!
A real highlight was seeing a woolly rhinoceros tusk up close—an unforgettable moment that sparked excitement and curiosity across all year groups!
The team also shared details about the museum’s exhibitions and activities, inspiring many pupils to explore further. A big thank you to Twickenham Museum for bringing history to life!
