Year 6 Shine in Spectacular Wonderland Performance at The Exchange!
This week, our amazing Year 6 children wowed audiences with their unforgettable production of Wonderland, performed at The Exchange Theatre in Twickenham.
On Tuesday afternoon, the whole of Key Stage Two were treated to a special dress rehearsal performance, and on Wednesday evening, Year 6 parents gathered to enjoy the full musical spectacular. Every child truly shone on stage, exuding confidence, joy, and talent throughout. From bold solos to lively ensemble numbers, the production was a wonderful celebration of all they’ve learned and achieved.
As Mrs Bachour said at the close of the show, “We wish your secondary schools could see how lucky they are to be receiving such talented, joyful children.” We couldn’t agree more – it was a performance to remember, and we are so proud of every one of them.
This year, due to our school hall floor being under repair, the show was held at The Exchange, which added an extra professional touch to the experience – what a treat for performers and audience alike!
Well done, Year 6 – it was simply spectacular! Check out our Instagram page for some video clips of the spectacular!
Battle of the Books – Year 4 Take on the Challenge!
On Thursday, a team of eight enthusiastic Year 4 readers proudly represented St Stephen’s at the Battle of the Books competition hosted by St James’s Catholic Primary School. Competing against pupils from 12 other schools, our brilliant book lovers faced a tough challenge: 30 questions on 6 set books they’ve been reading and discussing over the past few months—some of which were seriously tricky!
After a well-earned lunch break, the teams created a fabulous piece of artwork, inspired by a quote from one of the books, showing off not only their reading comprehension but also their creative flair.
While the judges tallied the final scores, the children were treated to a hilarious and inspiring author talk by Guy Bass, author of Scrap and Stitch Head. He had the whole room roaring with laughter and left everyone buzzing with excitement about reading and writing.
Our pupils showed wonderful enthusiasm, teamwork, and book knowledge throughout the day, and represented St Stephen’s admirably. We are incredibly proud of them all.
Well done Noah, Eva, Ellie, Rafe, Mette, Ato, Eloise and Seffi – you were fantastic! And a big thank you to St James’s for hosting such a fun and memorable event.
Peace Poem
In light of our focus on Peace last week, Scarlett in Year 5 has written a beautiful poem that captures the spirit of calm, kindness, and understanding we've been exploring. Her thoughtful words reflect the values we’ve been discussing and offer a powerful reminder of the importance of peace in our everyday lives. Well done, Scarlett!
Peace means kindness,
Peace means caring,
Peace means love,
Peace means sharing.
Peace is great,
It shows us light
It helps us thrive and unite.
So whatever your hobbies,
Whatever your race,
We can be kind,
And we can embrace.
And wherever you're from,
Whoever you are,
You'll shine bright,
And you'll be a star.
