Friendly win for Year Five footy boys

Just before half-term, a team of Year Five boys played a friendly match against Springfield Primary School in Sunbury. According to our Sports Coach, Danny Cain, the 2-1 final score line did not reflect the fact the boys dominated the ball throughout the contest. "We were in control from start to finish, despite gifting our opponents a one goal! Overall, our performance with the ball was fantastic and our ball retention was magnificent at times. We will keep working on our skills but this a great opportunity for some of the Year Five boys to showcase themselves to earn a spot in the Year 5/6 school fixtures in the coming weeks," said Mr Cain.

Welcome back Cherese

This week we were delighted to welcome back from maternity leave the Richmond Music Trust's Cherese Flanagan. Here she is with her lovely eight-month old twin girls, Violet and Lorelei, sisters for Reuban and Aria. It has been a busy year for Cherese, who has not only had her lovely girls but also got married! Our Year One and Two children were thrilled to see her again, as they love her recorder and young music maker lessons. Great to have you back Cherese.

FOR THE LOVE OF BOOKS

From the minute they join our ranks in Reception, we are trying to imbue a love of books in our children. Encouraging them to enjoy reading underpins all our academic learning and helps their written work  flourish, as well as firing their imaginations. Each week, every class gets a session in our well stocked library. There, they can curl up with a good tome and peruse the shelves for a book to check out and read at home. We give our children lots of opportunities to read in school, including the chance for a play time read in our outdoor reading shed.
