We would like to make a polite but important request to all parents and carers regarding the Chertsey Road footbridge.
Children have been observed climbing on the bridge structure and the surrounding railings before and after school. While we understand the bridge is a common route to and from school, the structure itself is not designed for climbing and poses a significant risk of falls or injury.
Your cooperation in reinforcing this safety message helps us ensure that every child’s journey to and from school remains a safe one.
Please be advised that our cold lunch service will continue throughout next week.
If your child has been bringing a packed lunch from home but you would now like them to switch to a school-provided lunch, please notify the office by emailing info@st-stephens.richmond.sch.uk before Monday 23rd March. This allows our kitchen team to ensure enough food is prepared for everyone who wishes to have a meal.
Our staff are currently being briefed on the specific signs and symptoms of the illness, and we will remain highly vigilant in monitoring the wellbeing of all children in our care.
For those who would like to learn more, comprehensive information and guidance can be found on the UK Health Security Agency website.
While there is no cause for alarm, we believe that staying informed and observant is the best way to support the safety of our pupils.
Don’t forget that you have until Monday 23rd March to place your orders for books by the brilliant Jim Smith!
If your child would like to receive a copy, please log into your ParentPay account to complete the order. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring some of Jim Smith’s signature humor home, so be sure to secure your books before the deadline on Monday.
We would be very grateful if you could take a few moments to complete our Stars Survey.
Complete the Stars Survey - click here!
We are keen to hear from all parents, regardless of whether your child currently uses the Stars service. If you do not use the service, there are only three short questions to answer, so it will take very little of your time.
Your perspective is incredibly valuable to us. By sharing your thoughts, you help us ensure that our wraparound care remains as helpful and supportive as possible for the families who rely on it.
Please complete the survey by the end of today, Friday 20th March. Thank you for your ongoing support and for taking the time to help us improve our school services.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already sponsored Mrs Easton for her upcoming London Marathon challenge! She is truly feeling the love from the St Stephen’s community and is so grateful for your generosity toward Maggie’s.
For those who haven't had a chance to donate yet, there is still plenty of time to show your support. As a reminder, we are holding a special Own Clothes Day next Thursday, 26th March.
Instead of our usual £1 donation to FOSS, we kindly invite you to sponsor Mrs Easton’s 26.2-mile journey. Every contribution provides vital emotional and practical support for those living with cancer.

We are reaching out to our wonderful school community with an exciting update for prospective families. Our catchment area for Reception 2026 is wider than usual this year!
Due to a lower birth rate across the borough, families who previously thought they lived outside our boundary—and may not have ranked St Stephen’s in their top six choices - now have a genuine chance of securing a place. We would love to welcome more children into our vibrant, supportive, and inclusive school community.
Can you help us spread the word? If you have friends, neighbours, or family members with children starting school in September 2026, please share this news with them. They may be surprised to learn that St Stephen’s is now a much more accessible option for them!
Come and See Us - We are hosting school tours every Monday from 10:00am to 11:00am, beginning on Monday, 20 April. Click here or head to our website to book a place.
