ST STEPHEN'S COMES IN AT 99 IN LIST OF TOP SCHOOLS IN COUNTRY

We are beyond delighted (see above photo) to announce that, according to the latest listings in The Sunday Times Parent Power guide, our school has come in at 99 out of 20,788 primary schools in the country. Our headteacher, Liz Bachour, said: "We have the best staff team. Each and every one of them is integral to bringing out the best in our children. They have an astonishing skill set and I am proud to work with them every day. On top of this, I always say we have the best school community. Our parents, carers, the wonderful team at St Stephen's Church, to name but a few, all contribute to make our school the most wonderful and caring learning environment. Add to the mix our amazing children, and we have a glorious recipe for success. We are so very proud of this achievement."

YEAR TWO STEALS THE SHOW AT CHRISTMAS SERVICE

Following on from the triumph that was the Reception nativity last week, Year Two took to the stage in St Stephen's Church to give us their take on the Christmas story. An angel with missing wings was heavily featured, as well as a journey to Bethlehem and some fabulous singing and acting. The church was bulging with a very appreciative audience - Mrs Bachour thought it was the biggest crowd of parents we had ever witnessed - but then again it was probably the hottest ticket in town. We all joined in on some familiar Christmas tunes, accompanied by our talented orchestra. Well done to our Year Two thespians and the staff team who all worked so hard to produce this Christmas delight.

YEAR FOUR DECK THE HALLS WITH ORNAMENTS OF FELT

Our Year Four children have designed and made some fabulous decorations in their Design and Technology lessons. They mastered the art of running and blanket stitch in order to make these heirloom decorations. We are sure they will be gracing their Christmas trees for many a year to come. Well done Year Four.
