We're back!

We hope you have all had a wonderful and restful summer. After a couple of fantastic INSET training days, our staff are raring to go with lots of wonderful plans for the year ahead. During our training staff had a session on the Art of Being Brilliant, which gave them lots of wonderful advice on how to live their most fulfilled lives and aid wellbeing - perfect for the beginning of the school year. Many of the tips learned will be passed on to our children. We also enjoyed sessions on safeguarding, incorporating all the latest Government advice; our school vision;  curriculum development; modelling learning, when teaching, and lots more. So, all in all, we are very enthused and excited for the year ahead.

We will bring you our newsletter every week. It will carry lots of useful information, dates and reminders, plus as many pictures of our wonderful children as we can cram in. It will arrive by email and is also available in our Google classrooms and on our website. Check out the tips above for viewing on a mobile. We always have multiple pages, so make sure you do not miss out on all the good news about our children by only reading the first page. Below we have some very important reminders for you. Thank you.

Break time snacks and nut policy

Can we remind you that it is fruit and veggies only for break time snacks.  Here's a reminder of the guidance for parents: click on the link Morning Snacks Guidance for parents

Please note - not suitable: fruit tinned in syrup, dried fruit (eg raisins, sultanas) and processed fruit bars (eg wound up lengths of dried fruit, fruit flakes etc). These are high in sugar and can cause tooth decay, so are not suitable as between-meal snacks. Thank you for your co-operation.

Reminders - we are a nut free school. Please ensure all children bring nut-free foods for breaks and lunch and omit foods bearing the label 'may contain nuts.' We have some children in school who have severe nut allergies. Thank you.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

To book a hot school lunch for this term, you will need to get your order in by Friday September 15th. This also applies to our new Reception families.

Please do not use our main, info@st-stephens.richmond.sch.uk address for absences. This email address receives an enormous amount of messages. However, continue to use this for all non-absence related messages. Please use absence@st-stephens.richmond.sch.uk to report any absences from Monday 11th September.

Welcome to Miss Portillo

We're  pleased to welcome Monika Portillo to our team. Monica will be teaching Year Four's Rashford class. She joins us from Melbourne, where she began her teaching career. Would you like some fun facts about her? Okay. Her favourite food is margherita pizza and she is not a big fan of brocolli (although she assured us she does eat other veg - phew). She loves to run and read and enjoys riding her motorbike. Welcome Monica. It is great to have you on the team.
