Church Assembly with Vicki
In this week's Church Assembly, Vicki from St Stephen's Church, took us through the meaning of communion for Christians. The Lord's Prayer and some wonderful singing, with lots of actions, rounded off a lovely whole school worship.
Later in the week, we built on this learning with KS1 and KS2 assemblies on the Eucharist. This is a special time for Christians when they eat bread and drink wine or juice which are symbols of Jesus' body and blood. The word Eucharist comes from the Greek word 'eucharistia', meaning thanksgiving. For Christians around the world it is a time when they remember the death and resurrection of Jesus and his final meal with his disciples.
NAILING NUMBER BONDS IN YEAR TWO
Embedding some fundemental mathematical strategies provides the building blocks of number-based learning. In Year Two, this week, our young mathematicians got down on the carpet to work on their number bonds to ten and twenty. The learning continued apace, as competency levels were high, so they moved on to number bond subtraction. Impressive work Year Two!
