Year 3 Boys Shine at Rocks Lane Football Tournament
Tuesday marked a big first for our Year 3 boys as eight students represented St Stephen's at the Rocks Lane Football Tournament - our inaugural sporting event for this year group!
Despite the tournament focusing purely on participation and development rather than official scoring or winners, the boys showcased phenomenal skill and teamwork.
The team, comprising Fionn, Toby, Elijah, Ellery, Xavier, Eric, James, and Evan, grew more and more confident with every game. While the scoreboards stayed blank, our boys dominated all their matches, putting on a fantastic display of football.
The quality of the teamwork was outstanding to watch. There were fantastic sequences of passing that resulted in some brilliant goals, all built up through great play from the whole team. The boys showed great energy, with superb tackles and some excellent saves made throughout the afternoon, ensuring the momentum stayed with St Stephen's.
We were incredibly proud to see the team's confidence soar as the day progressed. They played with growing flair and truly represented our school's spirit. Well done to the entire squad for their excellent attitude and for setting a brilliant standard for Year 3 sport this year!
Tag Rugby Borough Tournament Success!
Thursday was a big day for our young athletes as they proudly represented the school in a borough-wide Tag Rugby tournament. For many, it was their first time competing in school colours - and the excitement was clear to see from the very first game!
Although the team started a little slowly, they quickly settled into the competition, growing in confidence and cohesion with each game. Some matches showcased excellent attacking play, while others highlighted the team's strong defensive work. As the day progressed, they began to combine both elements brilliantly - with only a narrow loss to Radnor proving a minor blip in an otherwise impressive run.
