Our Year 3 and 4 Choir had the most incredible experience recently when they travelled to the prestigious Rose Theatre to perform in the Richmond Music Trust Singing Festival. It was a spectacular celebration of music, and our students represented St Stephen's beautifully on the big stage!
Singing alongside hundreds of children from various other schools, the atmosphere was absolutely electric. The sheer volume of voices coming together was spectacular - to put it simply: it was loud!
In addition to the main performances, our choir teamed up with our friends from St Mary’s School for two very special, high-energy numbers. Together, they brought the house down with show-stopping renditions of Katy Perry's ‘Roar’ and Elton John's ‘I’m Still Standing’.
Standing on a professional theatre stage and looking out into a packed, tiered audience was an unforgettable experience for our young performers. The auditorium was filled to the brim with their absolute biggest fans - their parents and families - whose cheers and applause made the event feel like a true arena concert!
"It was sooooo joyful! We all loved it so much!" - Mrs Chahil
A huge thank you to Richmond Music Trust for organizing such a wonderful event, to Miss Jiang for her dedication in coaching our choir every week, to the staff who accompanied the trip, and to all the parents who came along to support. Most of all, a massive well done to our Year 3 and 4 singers for their dedication, energy, and beautiful voices!
Excitement is building as Reception prepare for a massive milestone: their very first St Stephen’s Sports Day! The big event will take place on Thursday 18th June on the school playground, and our Reception classes are already training hard.
To help them get ready, our fantastic Year 6 students stepped up this week to coach and support their younger peers. It has been wonderful to see our oldest and youngest students working together, with Year 6 demonstrating brilliant leadership and encouragement as they guided Reception through the different stations.
Our Reception children have been practicing a variety of fun and challenging activities to test their skills, including relays, hurdles and other events to challenge their aim, coordination, agility and speed!
At St Stephen's, Sports Days aren't just about crossing the finish line first; they are all about teamwork, supporting one another, and cheering on your house team! Our Reception children are already learning what it means to be a part of the St Stephen's sporting community, showing wonderful encouragement for their classmates during practice.
We can't wait to welcome families to cheer them on this June - get ready for a morning of smiles, cheers, and lots of fun!
Our KS2 Craft Club members have been letting their creativity blossom! The children worked super hard to hand-paint and design their own pots, completing them with vibrant flowers made entirely from pipe cleaners. They are very impressed with their incredible work, and they should be proud of their fantastic designs!
The creative fun doesn't stop here. Next term, our crafters will be diving into:
Origami crafts
Handmade stickers
Calligraphy workshops
...and much more!
