Mrs Gawn and Curie class have been mixing it up in their art lessons. Using the three, basic primary colours, they have made their own secondary colour charts. They look very professional in their artist smocks.
During this week's PE lessons, Years Three and One played lots of games to get them warmed up after the Christmas break. Year Three and Mr Green came up with ways to work on their balance and endurance; including hopping on the spot, running sideways and even backwards. Back in the playground, Pankhurst class had lots of fun playing a game of Fox and Farmer, a tag-based game was just right for warming up their muscles and keeping them moving.

Supporting Sensory Needs | Stefanie Larsen
Listening time: 17 minutes
Suitable for: Families with children of all ages
Listen in as Stefanie, an occupational therapist, talks to Clare about sensory support for children who don’t seem to feel the cold, pain, or hunger, or who seem unaware of where their body is in space, and may seek out sensory input by crashing into things.
Reading time: 5 minutes
Suitable for: Families with primary-aged children
We now—thankfully—take bullying a lot more seriously than in the past when it might have been dismissed as “all part of growing up”, “banter”, “just a little teasing”, or “character building”.

Suzy Rowland is an educator, advocate and founder of the Happy in School Project - the Kingston Parent Carer forum has asked her to give a series of talks to support parent carers of SEND young people thrive in Secondary School. Join us for online events in the next few months on Communication, Transition (between years and within school) and Emotionally Based School Avoidance.
This event is intended for parents and professionals who work with children and young people with SEND and EBSA, but it is open to anyone.
Attendees will gain an understanding of emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), including emerging themes from latest research and information to help identify whether EBSA or anxiety about school might be the cause of other behavioural issues. We will explain the evidence-based approach to working with students with EBSA, where support should be curious, non-judgemental, and collaborative to deliver early intervention, working with families using an individualised approach.
