CHEERIO CHARLIE

It is with heavy hearts that we tell you our lovely Miss Douglas Brookman leaves us this week. Charlie is a stellar member of our Year Two Team and runs our children's school council. Beloved by staff and children, she leaves us to run the National Citizenship Service Youth Programme at Brentford Football Club. She will work with teenagers on life and employability skills and social action projects. "I have really enjoyed working at St Stephen's, I love the sense of community here and the brilliant upstanders that the school is cultivating," she told us.

P.S. Animal lover Charlie has also been known to rescue the odd injured racing pigeon or two, returning them to their delighted owners. Farewell to the bird lady of St Stephen's, we are sure she will fly in her new position.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK - AND WHAT A WEEK IT WAS!

All our staff would like to thank our amazing PTA, FOSS, and all our wonderful parents and children who have made us feel well and truly appreciated during this special week. Monday kicked us off with a feast of a breakfast, followed by an assembly where our children told us about the many ways they appreciate us. It was very moving. Tuesday saw us enjoying some of the best samosas in the world, donated by ex-parent Sheetal Ayora and cooked up in her lovely, Whitton-based restaurant, Spice it Up (our staff have enjoyed some great meals there and highly recommend it - you can also order on Just Eats). Wednesday was a flower power day. Our school is now brimming with colourful Spring blooms which have brightened up our week. A little bird has told that there will be more treats to come. Look out for next week's newsletter where we will include yet more pictures of Staff Appreciation week. Thank you from everyone on our staff team, we really do believe we have the loveliest parents and children.
