With Neurodiversity Week just around the corner (W/c 17th March) - see page two for more details - we bring you Elodie's wonderful poem ...
Me
Hi, it’s me,
I’m Elodie,
The girl with neurodiversity.
The girl with the unique mind,
Who is always trying to be kind.
I like to play,
Read and write,
But I get scared of the dark at night.
I hate big noises,
As well as crowds,
I don’t know why,
They’re just too LOUD!
I find it hard to explain,
They just seem to drive me insane!
I like bright colours,
And things that are fun,
But I find it hard to breathe when I run.
Cats are cool,
And so are dogs,
I like scaring my mum with lots of frogs.
I’ve been ‘sciencing’ since I was young,
But talking about body parts is never fun!
There is stuff that helps,
Like fidgets,
And poking stuff,
But when you are neurodiverse,
Some things are more tough.
But if you talk to me,
You will see,
I am so much more than my neurodiversity,
I AM ELODIE!
