FOSS BUYS £27K WORTH OF EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOL

This week FOSS has given us an enormous £27k payment (yes, 27k) to pay for many services and resources that will make such an enormous difference to the daily education of our children. "With our budgets ever tighter, the support of our amazing FOSS and parents is so crucial. As a staff team we are staggered by the ongoing contributions FOSS and our parents make and cannot stress enough how grateful we are," enthused Liz Bachour, our headteacher.

We will bring you photographs of some of these resources in situ in coming editions. In the meantime, here is a little glimpse of some of the things these funds have bought for our children: Shelves and reading sheds, art equipment, cooking and nutrition wokshops, resources for puppet making, music technology classes, history books, literacy resources, singing festival fees, repairs to our school piano, annual subscription fees for our online learning programmes and medical incident recording systems. And, on top of all that, funds have been provided for our hall PA system and laptop hardware. It is the most staggering list. Thank you, thank you, thank you. By supporting FOSS, our parents make such a difference. For more FOSS information, see page three.

WE GIVE YOU OUR COUNTY DODGEBALL CHAMPS

We're so proud of our dodgeball team who travelled to Redhill this week to compete in (and win!) the county dodgeball championships. Our Sports Coach, Danny Cain, brought us this report: "Going into the tournament, we were very optimistic as we have been regularly practicing at dodgeball club, as well as in our PE lessons. So, we really felt that we were well prepared. Our team performed so well in their first three games, winning them all and only dropping one point. Then, it was on to the semi final, which was probably our toughest match of the day, winning the first game, losing the second, drawing the third and then, finally, triumphing in the last two games to progress to the final. The final was a supreme performance. We went ahead 8-0, knowing the victory was already secured. There were brilliant performances from all those involved.  Well done to Isla M, Isla H, Mila, Sybil, Thomas, Eli, Seb, Oli and Rafferty. I am so very proud of the team."

Well done dodgeballers and Mr Cain, we are all very proud of you. And, for the statisticians among you, here are the score lines below:

FOOTBALL RESULTS - WELL DONE TO OUR TEAMS. HERE'S MR CAIN'S REPORT

Last Friday we travelled to North Sheen Recreation Centre, which will be the new home for our football teams. Despite a few absentees in the girls team we put on a dominant display, winning 2-0 against Holy Trinity. The girls were in control throughout and thoroughly deserved the win, with goals coming from Madi and Florence. Well done Annika, Madi, Mollie, Florence, Emi, Hettie and Mila.

The boys took on the same opponent and also showed their progress with some entertaining football. They kept the ball and really frustrated their opponents, allowing us more and more opportunities at goal. It did take a while to get our first goal, but once we managed it, there was only ever going to be one winner and that was St Stephen's! Two Goals from Oli, one each from Seb, Raff and Albert gave us a convincing 5-0 victory. Well done to Aydin, Seb, Peyton, Ali, Albert, Oli, Raff and Freddie.

MAKING SEVEN

Year One has been using counters to see how many ways they can make seven. Paired work doubles the mathematical fun!
