Traditional Tale Day Magic in Reception!
What a storybook start to the new term! On the very first day back, our Reception children stepped straight out of the pages of classic tales and into the classroom—dressed as their favourite traditional tale characters! From brave Little Red Riding Hoods to clever wolves and charming princes and princesses, the costumes were absolutely fantastic.
The magic didn’t stop there! The children had a wonderful day making their very own magic wands, drawing their characters, and sharing stories about their favourite traditional tales. The excitement and creativity filled every corner of the classroom.
And it wasn’t just the children who joined in the fun—the teachers got into character too! It was the perfect way to launch our exciting new topic and spark imaginations for the term ahead.
We’re off to a fairytale beginning—here’s to a magical term!
Hear Ye, Hear Ye… The Bell is Back!
If the playground has sounded a little quieter lately, you weren’t imagining things! Our beloved (and possibly Victorian!) school hand bell had been out of action, taking a forced break after decades of loyal service.
We feared it had rung its last “ding”… until a hero arrived! Thanks to the skill and kindness of Dom (Mrs Morrison’s neighbour!), our historic bell has been lovingly restored to its former glory. It’s shining, strong, and sounding better than ever—ready to start our school days with that classic clang once more.
A huge thank you to Dom for breathing new life into this cherished piece of school history. Here’s hoping it keeps ringing loud and proud for the next 100 years!
TAG RUGBY
The tag rugby team took on Kings school in the quarter finals on Tuesday, knowing a win would ensure their progression the finals night on 7th May.
The team blew our opponents away in the first half with a half time score of 6-2. The second half was closer but, nevertheless, St Stephen's progressed to the Semi-finals/finals night with a 10-5 result. Special mention to player of the match Isla who consistently amazes us with her defensive displays. Well done done to Isla, Sassy, Alana, Seb, Ali, Oli, Freddie, Alex and Eli.
