We’re shaking up the key stage assemblies this term to embed a collective love of great books. Miss Mowbray explains: "We are excited to announce that we will be changing our weekly key stage assemblies to include a literary focus. Each week, we will share an extract from a book or poem linked to our weekly theme. Our aim is to create a key stage wide book club where children are excited to engage in and talk about great books together. Open the link below to check out the books that will be covered each week. We encourage you to purchase, rent or dig these books out from your bookshelves so that you and your children can read ahead together. There is nothing more powerful than reading and sharing in story telling together as a community so thank you as always for your continued support." Mrs Blomley and Mrs Schofield show us just two of the books that will be featured in this term's assemblies

HELP US BUILD A COMMUNITY OF READERS AT ST STEPHEN'S ...
This week saw our boys compete in their first league football match of 2025 against Marshgate Shool. We started extremely well and put our opponents on the back foot from the very first whistle, not allowing them a moment on the ball, even winning it back a number of times on transition. This allowed us to keep the game in our opponent's half for the majority of the game. The boys created so many chances, and were disappointed at times not to finish off some sweeping moves. However the 9-0 scoreline ensured we maintain our unbeaten start to the league campaign. We saw two goals each from Oli, Freddie and Seb and Ali was our hat trick hero. He ventured into midfield during the second half and did it with real authority, also picking up the player of the match award. Well done Alex, Aydin, Peyton, Ali, Oli, Freddie, Raff and Seb.
