English - Journey to the River Sea

In year 5 we imagined that we  were Maia or Clovis and role played a conversation between the two characters. We  used lots of descriptive language.

We also had to consider the following questions in our discussions: 

If you arrived in a new country, would you behave the same way as the Carters? What would you do differently? 

Geography - South America Map Reading

In our exploration of South America, we utilised atlases to delve into its physical features. We had the opportunity to label mountains and rivers on our personalised map. 

Design Technology - In Year 5, as part of our Design and Technology (D&T) unit this term, we have been constructing birdhouses. Excitingly, these birdhouses will find their new home in the forest school area.

Music Workshop  - Year 6 have been taking part in the Newham Heritage Music Project. So far we have had 2 workshops so far, which have focussed on the development of music and culture over the last 50 years. The children have been busy writing lyrics and working on themes for their performances.

Science Investigation - Electricity -  Year 6 has been investigating the impact of changing a circuit. They have been making predictions, investigating and evaluating what happens when you change the voltage of a cell within a circuit and when you change the number of bulbs in the circuit.
