Agendas will be sent home each night to be signed by parents/guardians and returned the next day. Please check for additional assignments and reminders that are sent home.
Language Arts
Home Reading students are encouraged to read a variety of texts at home. This can include personal choice and assigned reading such as novel studies. Students can use their reading to complete reading assignments for our classroom economy.
Spelling lists and worksheet bundles will be included in the agenda at the start of the week. Students are expected to complete their spelling practice and hand it in on Thursday. Spelling tests will be on Fridays/end of the week.
Writing: students will do weekly writing in class. Monday is planning, Tuesday is drafting, Wednesday is editing. If a student does not finish in class, they are expected to finish at home.
Novel Study: students will read a variety of books throughout the school year. They will engage in activities and tasks that will promote comprehension and enjoyment of the reading. Students are expected to read assigned chapters and complete reflections at home when necessary.
Prodigy English: Parents seeking additional online practice are encouraged to have their children practice English on Prodigy English. It is an interactive village building game where they must complete a variety of English questions to achieve in game goals.
Math
Jump Math: Students will complete lessons in class and practice using the Jump Math workbook. Any assigned work not completed in class will be given as homework.
Math Prodigy/Mathletics: student may seek additional practice of math concepts at home by practicing on online platforms such as Math Prodigy and Mathletics.
Math Facts: Students are also encouraged to practice math facts once or twice a week.
