Chairperson's Appeal (Click Here)

Dear Devotee, Namaste!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and your family for being involved with Sri Siva Vishnu Temple (SSVT). Our temple is truly blessed for your support, and we pray that God continues to bless you and your family with peace, prosperity, and good health!

Your continued generosity ensures we can serve devotees of the Hindu faith today and in the future. We strive to keep our devotee’s utmost satisfaction in mind, especially as we move into a post-COVID-19 pandemic era.

This year, as we welcomed back many devotees and visitors to the temple, you may have noticed we undertook various projects to create a welcoming, spiritual environment. We took a step forward in our goal to be environmentally aware by installing LED lighting throughout the entire temple premises. The cost savings from this effort has helped manage our monthly utility expenses. Late this Summer, we installed a brand-new, safe, children’s playground equipment under the greenery in front of our temple. Over the past two years, we revitalized our temple gardens under the leadership of a few dedicated volunteers. We hope these efforts add to our continued effort to improve the devotee/visitor experience to our temple.

Our religious, cultural and education committees are in full swing, creating thoughtfully curated programs and services for you and your family. A highlight of the year was the successful Sri Rama Bhakti Samrajya Mahotsavam, under the guidance of our Pradhana Vaishnava Acharya, Sri Koti Ramaswarupa Raghavacharyulu, Chief Priest of Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam. The Mahotsavam included devotee participatory pujas throughout the six weekends leading up to the nine-day Mahotsavam in August. On the cultural side, this year the committee has resumed hosting many of the annual performances we used to have before the COVID-19 pandemic, with great flare, enthusiasm, and reception. This year, as part of the Mahotsavam, the committee held a marquee concert by Carnatic performer Padma Bhushan Smt. Sudha Ragunathan. We re-established the Education Committee this year and they have brought back many of our virtual classes to in-person/hybrid. From Yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, to the Sunday Family Dharma Class, the committee is off to a great start. The committee is also diligently working to catalog the many books and resources we have in our classroom with the intent to create a library check-in/check-out system for devotees. As part of the Mahotsavam, U.Ve. Sri Dushyanth Sridhar presented engaging daily discourses on the Ramayanam. These three operational committees, among the many other committees (Kitchen, Senior Citizens, PR, Flowers, and others) are the backbone of our temple. They are composed and led by many selfless volunteers who have found that service to others is an ultimate blessing. I sincerely thank everyone who are apart of these committees, as they help make our temple a premier institution.

This year, we made tremendous strides in the ongoing capital improvement projects for our temple. After finalizing the required system designs, we awarded a HVAC replacement contract to ProTec Construction, a construction and engineering services firm based in the DC area. We anticipate the new HVAC system to be up and running by Summer 2023. This year, we also initiated the granite flooring project; we are currently evaluating proposals received by a couple of contractors who are experienced in this work at other temples and organizations across the country. The Sai Aradhana Center project is undergoing a design review to ensure the planned amenities meet the future needs of our temple. Recently, we began evaluating whole-roof replacement systems for the Maha Mandapam of the temple, while also addressing the outer prakara areas. These high dollar capital improvement projects are a necessity to help address our nearly 35-year-old infrastructure, and ensure our temple remains a safe environment for years to come.

The sustenance of our temple for the future is dependent on your active participation. Among the many competing priorities in our lives, I hope our temple is a place you can prioritize. From volunteering to actively participating in religious services to your Ishta Devata, cultural events, or educational programs, the blessings you receive will nurture the soul as we all tackle our daily lives.

I humbly request you to consider supporting our temple again. As we approach the end of the calendar year, I know you may be considering supporting many worthy organizations, I hope our temple is one of them. No amount is too small; a tax-deductible contribution of any amount will help us tackle many of the ongoing infrastructure projects and plan for devotee services; a temple for today and the future.

The funds we raise will go towards operational costs (various devotee committee programming/events, employee salary expenses), special project initiatives detailed below, as well as towards our endowment (a temple for the future).

I understand everyone's finances are different, but I also invite you to make a pledge to our temple (if not for this year, consider 2023 or 2024) - click here to make a pledge or donate now for our annual fundraising gala.

I personally invite you to our Annual Fundraising Gala on Saturday, December 3, 2022. This event will feature performances by globally recognized artists, dances by local talent, an online auction consisting of a variety of items, and much more.

Please visit to view our online Auction (live on November 25, 2022). Please join us from the comfort of your own home on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 5:30 PM EST on our YouTube channel to view the program!

Thank you again for your generosity, participation, and support of our temple. May the Gods and Goddesses of Sri Siva Vishnu Temple always bless you, your family, and your friends in good health!
