This 220 hour introductory course is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs as welders. The student will be trained in basic shop safety, tools, welders, basic lap-joints, filet welding, and identifying different metals. They will also identify the concepts of welding and fabrication processes in the workplace. This includes the concept of joining materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by using high heat to melt the parts together. The student will also do hands-on assessments and visual inspections. Classes take place Mon-Thurs 4-8pm.
