Drama Club is an extra-curricular club that meets after the school day, and its members work countless hours to put on an annual show.
Our members are students at South Shore Tech who come from all different backgrounds and experiences. Some of us are actors or artists or technicians, and our combined talents help make Drama Club a fun learning experience.
Drama Club is a self-sustaining student club, which means we are not financially supported by the school. We are proud that our shows are funded through our ticket sales and fundraising efforts.
Our staff advisors are Mr. Jay Savage, Mr. T.J. Petruzzelli, and Ms. Pat Henderson.
Founding members Eileen Hayes and Sandy Smith began Drama Club in the 1980's, as a way to combine technical talents and artistic talents in our school. They were joined by Gerry Bova, who brought his acting and directing experience, and was the driving force of Drama Club for 30 years!
This student-run club was soon expanded to feature a Dinner Theater show each year, which boasts a large following of patrons even today.
The year 2020 presented us with our greatest challenge, to take a stage production, Clue On Stage, and to make it virtual in order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions. Our students rose to the challenge and made it happen, it was truly a year to remember. To see the titles of shows we have done recently, click on events.
Drama Club continues to present a quality show each year in our small space, aided by the talented students in our cast and crew!
