Once your child starts Kindergarten and goes on into First and Second Grades, your journey of helping them become strong readers is taking a slightly different direction. However, you are still an EXTREMELY important partner on this road to reading! Stay involved, helping your child:

1. Stay tuned in to the sounds of language

2. Practice making connections between sounds and letters.

3. Increase their vocabulary, or knowledge of words.

4. Read fluently.

5. Understand and connect with text.

6. Get comfortable writing ideas to share.
