A service learning project by S4-05 seeking to raise awareness about the dangers of irresponsible animal adoption, as well as educate the SST community about how pets can be cared for in a responsible manner.
A service learning project by S4-07 aiming to raise funds for Cat Welfare Society, as well as raise awareness on the mistreatment and abuse of cats. This is so that cats have a safe and caring society to live in.
A student-initiated project aiming to raise funds for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) so as to ensure animals are treated in a humane manner, are well-taken care of and can find new homes. Self-designed merchandise as well as those from SPCA were sold in SST over a few days.
Many youths are facing the growing challenge of finding a job in their chosen industry, with a chicken-and-egg problem of needing adequate experience to achieve the job title but not being given the experience by willing employers; how will the next generation survive? This youth group have discussed with many experts in the field, like the Ministry of Education, and has thus proposed a few possible ways of dealing with this significant worry: Developing an education roadmap for all to follow to gain more work experience, connecting these youths to overseas networks and increasing accessibility to opportunities in Southeast Asia.

Introduction and National Day Rally Recap: PM Lawrence Wong begins by thanking the attendees and reflecting on his recent National Day Rally, which emphasised the need to refresh the Singapore Dream to align with the evolving aspirations of Singaporeans.
Refreshing the Singapore Dream: PM Wong discusses a collective desire for a more flexible and individualised Singapore Dream where every citizen can thrive according to their unique strengths and aspirations.
Personal Fulfilment and Government Support: PM Wong encourages youths to pursue their passions and talents, assuring them of government support in arts, sports, research, and business.
Contribution to Society: PM Wong highlights the importance of contributing to the greater good, emphasising that personal fulfilment also comes from serving a higher purpose and positively impacting society.
Youth Panels and Future Engagement: PM Wong also introduces youth panels that focus on crucial topics like financial security, jobs, sustainability, and tech and encourages continued youth involvement in shaping Singapore's future.
Python in Five was a beginner's workshop by S4-01 targetted at Buona Vista youths to spark their interest in programming
A service learning project by S4-08 aiming to serve and support underprivileged primary school children. The class organised a book donation drive in SST to collect textbooks and story books, then donated them to the beneficiaries from six primary schools.
A student-initiated project seeking to teach children from low-income families how to express their emotions through drama. Together with Children's Wishing Well, a group of SST students conducted a two-day life-skills workshop where they interacted with children, taught the latter elements of drama as well as guided them to prepare a skit.
A student-initiated project seeking to benefit orphans and children from low-income families who lack opportunities to learn with technology. A learning camp was organised to provide such opportunities for the children so as to spark their interest in STEM and be better prepared for a technologically advanced future.
Interactions is a success again! This year ACE leaders got to interact with residents in Lengkok Bahru, and were able to plan out some simple yet fun games for all to play, along with a sweet dance segment!
A training programme for Junior ACE Leaders to learn the ropes of what it takes to be an ACE Leader before promotion next year, the programme allowed ACE Leaders to interact with Elderly Residents in Redhill and simultaneously develop their skills.
Continuing the effort from prior Interactions@HENDERSONS sessions, 2023 was another successful year for the ACE interactions team as they could organize two sessions to interact with the elderly again! Some activities included a scam talk and gardening activities.
A service learning project initiated by ACE leaders to interact and spend time with residents living in Henderson, most of whom were the elderly. Some events they organised were a lantern-making workshop and a jewellery-making workshop.
A service learning project initiated by ACE leaders to interact and spend time with the elderly living in Lengkok Bahru. This was done in order to support the latter's mental health and well-being. The ACE leaders also brought bags of food to distribute to the seniors.
Talks from the youth group GreenHacks on the topic of recycling in Singapore have highlighted several issues with recycling, emphasising the fact that Semakau Landfill is rapidly filling up and the problems of contamination we face in recycling efforts. However, they have also introduced hope into recycling through their proposed product labelling scheme, segregated recycling bins and community engagement to effectively solve this issue, citing examples in the community where aspects of these work!
Students from SST Inc EXCO at the #GGWR: Sustainability Unpacked event. Here, the students get a chance to observe the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu and other distinguished guests engaged in discussions and exchange of ideas. After the forum, the students had a tour of the Razer facilities to understand the sustainability effort taken by Razer.
SST Students were able to gain the opportunity to make some of their compost and sustain life, succeeding with compost thriving with life at the end of the program!
Hosted by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, students from our Singapore Youth Flying Club participated actively in this challenge and came up with designs that won the Design marvel Award in the Hull category! Along with that SST also won the Sustainable Quiz
An SSTore initiative, 2022 saw them introduce Seastainable, where items relating to the theme of World Ocean Day were sold to spread awareness about the negative effects of single-use plastic on marine wildlife
A service learning project by S4-02 that sought to educate the SST community about Invasive Alien Species (IAS) and the latter's detrimental impact on our environment. The class also partnered with NParks and volunteered to help them in the removal of invasive plants at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
A service learning project by S4-06 aiming to raise awareness on the pollution of beaches and the sea. The students also engaged in a clean-up of Changi Beach.
Whoever said money doesn’t buy you happiness did not have enough money. That is the situation most lower-income households in Singapore face despite not willing to receive outside help, and that is what the team at Life Hacks aims to solve! They have created an application called FLEX (Financial Literacy Excellence), which aims to help guide these individuals, or even middle-income households/students to better mange their finances better. These do not dictate how you should spend your money, but rather giving you recommendations to how you should budget wisely
Sharing by Anson, co-founder of Hao Ren Hao Shi with Secondary 3 students, we would like to affirm all Secondary 3 students' efforts in contributing and volunteering on the Food truck!
Starting at the beginning of the year, each S3 class volunteered at the mobile charity monthly to provide food to the residents of Bukit Merah. We thank Hao Ren Hao Shi for this amazing opportunity to provide necessities to residents there!
A service learning project by S4-04 seeking to educate the SST community on food waste and food insecurity in Singapore. In collaboration with Food From The Heart, Singapore, they conducted a food drive whereby donated food items were distributed to the beneficiaries of the charity organisation.
In continuation, ACE Leaders organised a games carnival to promote awareness of cancer! In addition, they also packed life packs in collaboration with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS).
A service learning project led by ACE leaders in collaboration with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS). The ACE leaders appealed to the SST student population to participate in Race Against Cancer, a race that aims to raise funds for cancer treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, cancer rehabilitation, cancer screenings, research, public education and cancer support group initiatives.
A service learning project led by ACE leaders in collaboration with the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS). The ACE leaders carried out an advocacy campaign to rally for members of the SST population to design outreach posters to promote the virtual event “Singtel - Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer (RAC).” RAC aims to raise funds for cancer treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, cancer rehabilitation, hospice care, free cancer screenings and public education initiatives.
Project Blaze-On was an initiative started by a group of Secondary 4 ACE leaders. The group visited the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) at Novena Specialist Center in November 2018. After hearing from the CCF staff and seeing how children with cancer and their family members had benefited from CCF’s programmes and activities, the leaders decided to embark on a project to help raise awareness of childhood cancer and raise funds for CCF. They had in mind the objective of sustaining the programmes in CCF so that CCF will be able to continue to help their beneficiaries.
The ACE leaders printed posters and put up information about childhood cancers on the school's TV screens and social media to help raise awareness about CCF Programmes. They also organised a school assembly talk and invited Ms Aishah (CCF staff) to address the school community. The sharing was insightful and motivated the students to donate generously to the cause. The leaders’ efforts helped raised over $4500 for CCF.
This service learning project with the tagline #wecancervive was initiated by ACE leaders to raise awareness about cancer and cancer prevention amongst 200 residents living in Sunset Way estate. In addition, they sought to raise funds for the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) through pledge cards donation, as well as encourage more people to participate in the Relay For Life event that year.
As part of the RHD celebrations, Sec 3 students presented on their SS performance task (RHD projects) during recess for all levels yesterday and today. Students had an engaging time sharing the importance of racial and religious harmony with their schoolmates, and discussing what they can do to foster it.
6 groups of SST students had their SS Performance Task products on Racial and Religious harmony chosen to showcase at the launch of the Harmony Fest organised by Harmony Circle and MCCY. Minister Edwin Tong also visited the booths to try out the projects by our students!
