• Your child will have an agenda this year which they will be writing homework assignments and other important information in (upcoming tests/quiz dates, etc.)

• Agendas should be checked nightly and initialed.  This helps keep communication open and you aware of everything that is going on! :)

• I will star your child's agenda the following morning.

• Your child will be asked to read 20-30 minutes nightly along with additional homework assignments.

• Individual: We use a "Reward Board" for individual behavior. When students are on-task and working well, they can earn a ticket. If they are off-task or being disrespectful, their ticket will be taken away. Every Friday students have the opportunity to count up their tickets to earn classroom coupons for fun rewards, which can be redeemed at any point in the school year. 

• Whole-Group: We have a "Sweet Behavior" Jar that the class has the opportunity to fill, based on "good" or "great" choices they make as a whole class!  The candy pieces for the jar cannot be taken out, only added.  Once the jar is full, students earn a reward (we will take a vote to decide rewards throughout the year!)

• Fun Friday: Every Friday your child can participate in Fun Friday! 

• This is the last year for Standard-Based-Grading.  My grading scale is:

4 - 90%-100%

  3 - 80%-89%

  2 - 70%-79%

  1 - 60%-0%

*If your child scores a 1 (60% or lower) on a test, they will need to make corrections.  

*The only exception to this is for spelling tests.  No corrections can be made, only writing the words 3 times each.
