Things You Should Know:

1) The students will be encouraged to read during any "downtime" in class. Please see to it that he or she always has a book in school that is on his/her reading level.

2) Only erasable black pens are permitted for writing.

3) Your child is responsible for having his/her books and supplies each day. This includes three sharpened/mechanical pencils, three erasable black pens, a red pen, ruler, yellow highlighter, glue stick, scissors, crayons and/or colored pencils. Weekly check on supplies is strongly recommended.

4) The Archdiocesan time allotment for 4th grade homework is sixty (60) minutes.

5) All homework is written on the board and SHOULD be copied in the assignment book. It can also be accessed on my Google Site.

6) Most nights, your child will be required to read, study, or memorize some subject matter. It is imperative that he/she realize the importance of this now in order to develop good habits.

7) Student Behavior - There are certain guidelines for student behavior which can be found in the Student-Parent Handbook. Failure to adhere to these will result in a mark on a student's calendar. This monthly calendar will be kept in the front of your child's docket (8-pocket folder). Any time a mark has been given, your child will need to get his/her calendar signed. Three or more marks in a one-month period may result in a need for a parent-teacher conference. It is imperative that we communicate with one another in order to best understand the reason(s) behind a child's infraction(s). Please be sure to check this paper daily and sign when it has been marked.

*** If there is a legitimate reason why a student could not complete an assignment, please email me or send a note to school.

8) Your child should have a firm handle on the times tables. It is necessary that he or she memorize these facts in order to be successful in Math.
