Dr. M. S. Alphin, a distinguished researcher, carrier guide and educator, holds a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli, specializing in Biodynamic Vibration. His academic journey includes a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, and the University of Madras, respectively. With a cumulative teaching and research experience spanning 20 years, Dr. Alphin is the Associate Professor in Charge of the Career Development Center (CDC), which oversees training and placement at SSN.

Here are some notable highlights from his career:

Industrial Consultancy:

Dr. Alphin has actively engaged in real-time industrial consultancy, addressing design and vibration challenges for esteemed organizations such as Preethi Kitchens, TI Cycles (Murugappa Group), Harihar Alloys, IGCAR, and Guru Engineering. Notably, he completed an externally funded research project as the Principal Investigator for a DST Project valued at 22 Lakhs.

Organizational Contributions:

He has orchestrated various academic events, including Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), conferences, and Summer Schools, supported by AICTE funding, with a cumulative worth of 50 Lakhs.

Dr Alphin has been honoured with the “Best Faculty Award” twice for his exceptional teaching contributions at SSN Institutions. Additionally, he received the “Best Paper Award” at the SymHealth Conference hosted by Symbiosis University and was recognized for his all-around abilities.

Research Output:

His work includes 45 International journals, 2 Books, and 21 International Conference Papers.

Dr. Alphin actively participated in the International Congress on Sound and Vibration organized by the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration in Thailand and the AHFE 2019 conference in Washington DC, USA, supported by the SSN Trust / CSIR Grant.

Doctoral Supervision:

Under his guidance, 8 Ph.D. scholars have successfully earned their doctoral degrees at Anna University. Currently, 4 scholars continue their research journey under his supervision.

Innovations and Engagements:

Dr. Alphin holds a registered patent for Design No. 344455-001, which pertains to a Portable Oxygen Cylinder with Face Mask.

He actively contributes to the academic community as a resource person, guest speaker, and conference session chair in renowned institutions such as NIT Py, SVCE, RMK, St. Joseph’s, Bannari Amman, VIT, Murugappa Group, SRM, and IGCAR.

As a reviewer, he evaluates scholarly work for refereed international journals.

Dr. Alphin’s multifaceted contributions underscore his commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering excellence in engineering and research.
