長壽之謎?

• 在瑞典達拉納省境內發現的古樹，其目前的樹幹只有約600年的歷史?
• 其主根系經碳-14定年法鑑定及基因配對核實後，發現壽命高達9550歲?
• 而在同一個山上，根據相同鑑定法鑑定後，亦有近20株歐洲雲杉的年歲超過8000歲?

National approach to artificial intelligence

One rapidly evolving field of digital technology is artificial intelligence (AI).1

AI has the potential to contribute significant benefits in a variety of areas through increased economic growth, and solutions to environmental and social challenges. According to some studies, the use of AI has great potential to increase economic growth.2

• 做出調整並配合每一刻的正是行動。
• 一刻接著一刻，每一刻都需要「不同」的回應。
• 每一場對話都需要表達或說一些與上一場對話不同的東西。
• 使用觀念、想法、思想來表達一種超越「觀念、想法、思想」的東西。
• 為某種超越「觀念、想法、思想」的東西賦予聲音。
• 當了解試圖表達的其實是超出話語之外的東西、是話語的覺性泉源，這樣而來的思想和話語會變得比較輕盈，溝通的方式會更為透明、更具穿透力。

Letter from the Directors

We are on the cusp of The Age of Artificial Intelligence. The scope and scale of impact of the Age of AI will be more profound than any other period of transformation in our history. AI has the potential to radically transform every industry and every society.

If AI is to serve the collective needs of humanity, it must incorporate an understanding of what moves us — physically, intellectually and emotionally. It is critical that we design machine intelligence that can understand human language, feelings, intentions and behaviors, and interact with nuance and in multiple dimensions.

To achieve this, the creators and designers of AI must be broadly representative of humanity. This requires a true diversity of thought — across gender, ethnicity, nationality, culture and age, as well as across disciplines.

Stanford University has a strong tradition of multidisciplinary work and Stanford HAI builds on that legacy. We are bringing together leading thinkers across multiple fields so that we can better prepare future leaders to learn, build, invent and scale with purpose, intention and a human-centered approach.

We are all venturing into a new world that we are building as we go. As creators of this new technology, it is our collective responsibility to guide AI so that it has a positive impact on our planet, our nations, our communities, our families and our lives.
