Class Information

Welcome to Room 103

One of the most important tools for your child's success in school is communication between parent and teacher. This is my 34th year of teaching and am looking forward to teaching your child.

Your child will bring home his/her red folder every night. Please check for papers from the office, notes from me, possibly homework and graded papers. Please send me a note if you need me to know something right away. I often do not check my email or DOJO until lunch. I know together, as a team, we can make this a successful year for your child.

Birthdays

Your child will receive a birthday band, certificate and cardinal cash from me in honor of his or her birthday. The office will also call the names of students when it is their birthday and they will receive a certificate.

We will celebrate your child's birthday, but please do not send in birthday treats to share with the class. You may donate a book to our library in your child's name. Thank you!

Grading

Grading Scale (Academic Areas):

M-Meets Standard- Demonstrates independently and consistently
D-Developing-Demonstrates with some support inconsistently
B-Beginning-Needs frequent re-teaching, additional practice and/or modified assignment

You may see these letters circled at the top of some papers. If your child is struggling with a concepts

I will provide proper interventions.

Snack

*I will provide snack the first week of school.

You may send a SIMPLE snack with your child. It should be in a baggie or be a prepackaged snack. Your child will sit at his/her desk to eat and no sharing will be permitted. Please place it in your child's red folder or in book bag. Please do not put it in your child's lunch box. Thank you!! Please send in a water bottle with a pop-up top. Please no twist tops.
