Step1: As soon as you register, students are assigned 

• a district student email account for Powerschool. 

• a student ID. 

• a chrome sign in account

If you do not have a Powerschool ID, email gpelcic@sheffieldschools.org immediately. 

This is how your chrome sign in/gmail account looks: Your Username** is your:

•  first initial of your first name,

• your last name, 

• and the last 2 digits of your graduation year. This is an Example: AStudent26@sslcs.org 

• Your Password is  your student ID followed by a lowercase sl

There are many ways to support your student. Here are some suggestions:

Study Environment: ● Create a routine for your students, ensuring that your student is present daily, adhering to a daily bell schedule. You are responsible for daily attendance of your student. ● Provide students with a workspace that maximizes learning and minimizes distractions. 

Grades and Academic Progress: ● Monitor student grades using parent Portal on Powerschool. Grades will be updated weekly. ● Monitor student progress on google classroom. Your student night be working on multiple platforms. Spend time with your student to get familiar with what they are doing. Contact the teacher immediately if your child experiences any problems. ● Any inquiries received after work hours and on weekends will be addressed the next business day. ● Communicate with me if there are additional resources needed to support your child’s academic success and overall wellness. 

Yes, you should be checking your google classroom every day (M-F). Not only will it ensure you are keeping on pace with your assignments, it is also a way we gather attendance.
