I.D. tags (for Car Riders)

In your orientation folder you received 3 I.D. cards. One card will go on your child's backpack and the other cards are for any adult that is picking your child up from school. Upon pick up, a teacher will match the numbers on your card to your child's and then release the child.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR CARD you will be asked to go to the office where Mrs. Glass will verify your identity and release your student. Car Riders will be dropped off and picked up at the back gym doors.

transportation changes

If there is a change in your child's transportation (ex. car rider needs to ride the bus, or bus rider is being picked up) we MUST have the changes in writing. You may also call the office with changes. We will not be able to take the word of your child. Therefore, please make sure to notify the school of any changes in your child's transportation.

Absence Procedure

If your child is going to miss a day of school, please call the office at (440) 949-4238 and inform Mrs. Glass, the secretary. When your child returns to school, please send in a note that includes the date and reason for their absence.

Also, MUCH of what we do in kindergarten is hands on, cooperative learning that takes place throughout our school day. Students work with friends and independently to complete activities that are guided by the teacher. Therefore, when your child is absent, there is no need to pick up any “missed work.” I will work one on one with your child to review any new skills taught while they were out.

breakfast and lunch

Students at Forestlawn Early Learning Center are able to purchase both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast typically consists of a cereal bar, cheese stick, goldfish, juice and milk. The lunch menu is on our school website and consists of a hot choice OR a peanut butter alternative sandwich. Lunches come with a milk (white, chocolate, strawberry), fruit/veggie and a snack.

*Families are encouraged to fill out the Free/Reduced meal form to determine eligibility. These get turned in at the school office. Just let me know if you need one!
