About Our Classroom:

We are a PAX Classroom which briefly refers to the fact that students are taught a set of strategies to help them learn important self-management skills while collaborating to make their classroom a peaceful and productive learning environment. Our classroom is designed to be peaceful, productive, happy and healthy.

We use evidence-based curriculum to teach 2nd Grade Ohio State standards. Evidence based means there is research and evidence that proves the curriculum is effective in students learning the standards.

CLASS DOJO

The Class Dojo is going to be our way to communicate this year.    Please be sure to download the free Class Dojo app on your phone. Students and parents can also use the following URL on any device to access the Class Dojo:  www.classdojo.com.  Then log in with your codes. Then save the passwords on the device.

There are four tabs across the top of your app; messages, portfolios, class story and classroom.

MESSAGES: All messages are private and are delivered only to me.  I check this when I am not teaching and usually return texts the same day or within 24 hours.  Mrs. Carl can't see messages to me and I can't see messages to her.

PORTFOLIOS: All portfolios are private only to me. You can take pictures, or videos, of your child's online work and upload the pictures to portfolios and then only I will see it and grade it.

CLASS STORY: Everything in Class Story can be seen by our entire class community. I post reminders, events, pictures, videos, comments, sign ups etc... Please check the class story everyday to stay informed.

CLASSROOM: You will see your child earning behavior points.  This is always something to be proud of!

STAR BINDER

Students will be given a S.T.A.R. Binder on their first day of in person school.  This Binder should come back and forth to school every time they attend.  The Binder will have a planner with additional homework assignments as needed per individual student. We may send homework,  communications and materials home in the binder. So please check the binder and planner when your child arrives home.  Please empty the binder of everything that does not need to come back to school.   Please return signed notes, finished homework, and borrowed books, and materials in the binder when your child returns to school.
