I'm Ria Iyer, currently in my last year at SSLA. One of my biggest motivations for joining the IBHA team, is my inclination towards anything that employs a wide, holistic perspective on the world, on life. It always helps me make sense of the world a little better, which is why IBHA is something I'm starting to feel extremely passionate about. I also enjoy reading, baking bread, origami, gazing at trees and birds, sudokus, tea, instant noodles and procrastinating basically everything (I lie- the last bit is more stressful than is enjoyable).

As a student whose interests and specialization don't lie in the conventional divisions of the sciences or the humanities, I feel Big History is able to draw on all of my interests in an organic manner and put them to use systematically. Hi! I am Manavi Pandey, the Marketing Head of the IBHA'21 conference. I am from batch 2022 at SSLA. SSLA's intense focus on Big History is what drew me in towards the subject in the first place. Even though my subjects of study do not seem to be directly related to Big History, it came as a surprise how much they are guided by Big History. I joined the conference in the hope of gaining insights into the overlap of Big History with non-History-related subjects and for the chance to connect with professors, students, and researchers across the globe .

Hello, there! I am Saanvi Singh in my 2nd year of college. When I see a piece of broken glass lying on the road, the first thing that I'm concerned with isn't someone getting hurt by it but what that piece originally belonged to or was a part of. I am someone who likes going on a quest and learning about the most random things on earth and beyond. So, when I got to know about the IBHA conference, I jumped at the chance. Apart from my “thirst for knowledge”, I love listening to music and dancing along to it. I also like playing badminton and talking to people and listening to their stories.

I wanted to be a part of this conference solely because of my interest and my desire to contribute to this discipline in the best way I can. Hello! I'm Mahak Jain, a fourth-year student at SSLA. My main motivation for joining the team was to explore an area of study I wasn’t particularly familiar with but always had a liking for. I was really intrigued by the interdisciplinary aspect of Big History in exploring the cosmos, earth, life and humanity and it compelled me to dive deeper and understand the subject in all its varied forms.
On good days, you’ll find me petting cats/dogs that I come across during my morning walks, spending time in nature, taking an unhealthy amount of photos (especially during the walks), playing lawn tennis, reading a good book, and taking long naps in the afternoon.
