The school counselors will utilize the Columbia Screener in accordance with the district policy to determine the risk level of students in crisis. The Columbia Screener can be viewed below. 

Counselors will help students identify support systems and reassure them that help is available. Parents/Guardians will be contacted regarding student concerns. 

If there is a significant concern for student safety, a parent/guardian may be required to take the student to a mental health professional for further evaluation and return with a doctor's note. When a student returns, they may require a safety plan. A safety plan template can also be found below 

Parents/guardians will receive a copy of community resources that can also be found below.
