Dear all,
Welcome to the main portal of Saigon South International School Debate.
Saigon South International School Debate is a non-profit organization intended to train students to become eloquent and professional debaters, regardless of their experience. Our club embodies Saigon South International School's core values and motto: to connect our learning to our lives and the international community we live in, with the intent to become global, respecting, and responsible citizens of Earth.
Our most prioritized goal is to make students more comfortable speaking their viewpoints on an argument in a logical and concise manner. Through that, we also teach them to know how to find and cite the most relevant pieces of evidence for their topic, write speeches, refute arguments made by the opposition, and speech techniques to make their arguments more persuasive.
After the students' training, our club offers internal, local, and international debate scrimmages (friendly matches) and tournaments. As part of the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA), debaters also have the chance to compete with other international schools in Vietnam and Asia, as well as university debate tournaments in the United States.
Aside from training students to become proficient debaters, we also offer lots of activities to keep the club fun and interesting for all. These activities help them to be more creative with their responses as well as easily tackle challenges that occur in debates. Students also have a chance to share information with one another, with each claiming a different side of an argument and enlighting everyone in the club with a new perspective.
We hope you will join the Saigon South International School Debate club, as it is intended to show the best and most enjoyable pathway for each and every student to know their voice and thoughts.
