WELCOME FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear MUN Community,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Saigon South International School 2022 SEASAC MUN Conference.

The founders of SSIS believed in an education that prepares students “to live purposeful lives as global citizens.” The MUN experience truly fosters the skills and dispositions needed for global citizenry, while providing students from across the region with an important opportunity to form meaningful connections with each other.

As we know, the challenges of the past few years have deepened existing inequalities and further ravaged many communities around the world medically, economically, socially. Our hope is that SEASAC MUN 2022 inspires delegates to connect deeply with one another as they engage in dialogue and develop a deeper understanding of and commitment to promoting and supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our Secretariat has worked hard to organize a conference with collaboration and connection at its center. These elements, along with the resilience and adaptability that our students have shown during the struggles of online school and lockdowns, are important if we hope to fulfill the lofty aim that is the theme of our conference: Reducing Inequalities. Unified, delegates have the power to develop the skills needed to create lasting change. And we hope that they do so while making lifelong connections and friendships in the process.

I wish you all an engaging and meaningful conference!

Head of School

WELCOME FROM THE SSIS MUN DIRECTORS

Dear colleagues, friends, and students from around the world,

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Saigon South International School SEASAC MUN Conference. As the newest member of SEASAC, this is a great opportunity for SSIS students to form meaningful connections with other students from across the region - making this conference a truly international one. With this in mind, our Secretariat has worked hard at organising a conference with collaboration and connection at its centre. These elements, along with the resilience and adaptability that our students have shown during the struggles of online schools and lockdowns, are important if we hope to fulfill the lofty aim that is the theme of our conference: ‘Reducing Inequalities’. We wish all the students an engaging experience and hope that the exchange of ideas helps to bring us all one step closer to having a more nuanced understanding of the challenges that the world is facing.

Sincerely,

Laura Hogg & Rebecca Lozano

SSIS MUN Director & Co-Director
