I am the reading specialist at BCI. This will be my ninth year teaching in Stewartville. My goal is to teach students to become lifelong learners who are:
- confident readers
- independent thinkers
When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, hiking, photography and spending time with my family. Over the summer I had the opportunity to travel to visit many of our National Parks.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at email@example.com or 533-1422. The best time to reach me is before 8:10 am or after 3:10 pm.
WIN times by grade level:
3rd grade WIN 11:00-11:30
4th grade WIN 1:00-1:30
5th grade WIN 12:30-1:00
WIN is a multi-tiered system of reading support, which assesses a student’s reading level and provides interventions and support in an attempt to bring that student closer to reading at grade-level. This tier 2 intervention is scheduled for 30 minutes daily, and the students will not miss any core instruction. This reading intervention and support will happen in small groups.
For students who need additional support on reading skills according to standardized assessments, will receive Tier 3 interventions. Tier 3 interventions will take place 3 to 5 times a week for approximately 15 minutes. This is in addition to Tier 2 during WIN time.
