Mr. Schmitz

Hello, welcome to 4th grade! My name is Tyler Schmitz. This will be my seventh year teaching 4th grade at Bear Cave Intermediate School.

I am originally from Stewartville, I graduated in 2012. I went to Rochester Technical Community College for two years and then continued my education at the University of Concordia St. Paul where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

I am the oldest of three kids. My sister, Meghan recently just moved to Hawaii. My sister Allison lives in Rochester.  My father Mark was a long time teacher here in Stewartville. My wife Stephanie currently teaches Kindergarten at Bonner and we are expecting our first child in December.

In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends. I love sports, both playing and coaching! I played college baseball at RCTC and Concordia. I currently coach baseball here in Stewartville.

I am excited for this year at Bear Cave Intermediate. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by e-mail (tyler.schmitz@ssdtigers.org ) or phone 507-533-1573  best time to call 7:15-8:05 am or 2:00 - 3:15 pm.
