LUNCH INFORMATION

Lunch menus change weekly and can be found

by clicking on the link below:

ADD MONEY TO A LUNCH ACCOUNT

Online Through MySchoolBucks:

This website allows you to view your child’s participation account so you can see what they are purchasing and how much money is in the account. This also allows you to make sure money was applied to the account that you paid through mySchoolBucks or by sending a check to school.  If you need to add money to your child's lunch account, you can do that by following the link below to  the "my SchoolBucks" website to add funds electronically:    mySchoolBucks

SEND IN A CHECK TO SCHOOL:

If you are sending money to school with your child, please put it in an envelope with the child’s name & grade on the front. It is recommended to send a check but if you prefer cash, it is more important to put the cash in a sealed envelope with the child’s name on it.

Please put the child’s name & PIN number in the “memo” section of the check.

If you are having problems or have questions about this process, please call 610-938-6023.

Safety and Security Protocols

BUILDING ADMITTANCE / PHOTO ID SWIPE:

All persons entering any school building will be required to present & swipe their driver’s license or state issued ID in the District’s new Raptor Security System; upon running the identification, the system will automatically generate a visitor's pass.  Persons without a driver’s license or state-issued identification will still be expected to present a photo ID & will have to meet with building administration to determine building admittance.

VOLUNTEERS AND CHAPERONES / BACKGROUND CHECKS AND CLEARANCES:

As determined by administration, all volunteers who are responsible for the welfare of children must have obtained all security clearances prior to service. Primarily, these volunteers are persons who will chaperone a field trip or volunteer at certain building events identified by administration.  Necessary clearances include child abuse clearance, criminal history & an FBI background check (waivers for the FBI check are available for persons who have been residents of Pennsylvania for ten years or longer).  Fees for volunteers applying for clearances have been waived by the state, with the exception of the FBI background check, which costs $27.50. Links to obtain clearances are available on the link here:

Please inform all persons on your students’ approved pick-up list, or members of your family who may wish to volunteer, of these changes. Should you have any questions, please contact your building principal. As always, the safety & welfare of each student remains our utmost priority. Thank you for your support & understanding as we strengthen district-wide security measures.

Absence Notification: Email Procedures & More

How to Report a Daily Absence

1) An e-mail to the attendance office at shsattendance@ssdcougars.org, which will also fulfill the written notice requirement for an excused absence. The e-mail must include the date of absence, child’s name, grade, the reason for the absence and the parent/guardian name reporting the absence and phone number.

2) A phone call to the school attendance hotline (610) 938-6110. The message should include the student name, grade, date, the name of the parent/guardian calling, a phone number, and the reason for the absence. A call must be followed-up with a written excuse note or email within three days. If a written excuse is not submitted within this time period, the absence automatically becomes unexcused.

Extended Absence/Vacation Request/Approval

Forms must be picked up in the Student Services Office at least 10 days prior to the first day of the requested absence.

Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals

Written notes are required for all late arrivals and early dismissals. Late arrivals and early dismissals remain unexcused until a note is received. If the late arrival or early dismissal is due to a medical or dental appointment, additional documentation from the medical office must be provided to be excused. The appointment verification can be faxed to 610-938-6105 or dropped off in the Main Office.

Excuse for Absence and Late Arrival/Early Dismissal Cards can be picked up in the Main Office.

PLEASE NOTE:  Additional information & updated attendance polices can be found in the student handbook & on the district website, www.ssdcougars.org
