23-24 - Senior Portraits

Senior Portrait Email Announcement for the Class of 2020

Each senior must sit for their senior portrait to be included in the Scrivener Yearbook. The portraits occur this summer at the high school auditorium and are scheduled in June and July across a range of dates to ensure you can pick a date on your calendar and handle the portrait prior to the start of the academic school year.

Senior portraits at Springfield High School are scheduled for Monday, July 22nd, Tuesday, July 23rd and Wednesday, July 24th.

The portrait sittings are FREE. The tuxedo, drape, cap, gown, and tassel are provided by Barksdale. Click the link:

More information will be sent to your home. The senior portraits are the first pages to be submitted to the yearbook company to reach our 2020 commencement distribution deadline so it is essential that you sit for the senior portrait this summer – the sooner the better. If you do not sit for the senior portrait over the summer, then your portrait will not be able to be included in the yearbook. If need arises, additional dates will be added in August. Please plan to sit for the June and July sessions to be sure you are happy with your senior portrait.

If you have any issue with the link you can always visit the website, click on the gray box that says, “What are you looking for?”, select from the drop down menu, “Book your session – Seniors”, there will be a list of schools, scroll to Springfield and it should redirect you to the dates.

Our Hospitality positions have finally been filled! We welcome Melissa Raffel & Trish Turner and know you will do an excellent job!

Giant A+ Rewards Total

We earned $3,212.88 from Giant A+ Rewards Program simply because those 255 families who signed up to designate their rewards to SHS just did their food shopping - that's it! This is our largest source of income and we use this money to support programming for the students at SHS! Thank you!

We will hold 4 meetings this year again. They will be the 2nd Tuesday of the month in September, November, February & April.

Our first meeting will be Tuesday, 9/10, 7:30pm, location TBD. Dr. Anthony Barber, SSD Superintendent, will be our guest speaker! Come out and bring a friend! We look forward to working with you and having a great school year together!

How Can I View SHS Lunch Menus or Make a Lunch Account Payment?

Lunch menus change weekly & can be found by clicking on the link below:

If you need to add money to your child's lunch account, you can do that by following the link below to the "my SchoolBucks" website to add funds electronically:

You do not have to make a payment online to use mySchoolBucks.

This website allows you to view your child’s participation account so you can see what they are purchasing & how much money is in the account. This also allows you to make sure money was applied to the account that you paid through mySchoolBucks or by sending a check to school.

If you are sending money to school with your child, please put it in an envelope with the child’s name & grade on the front. It is recommended to send a check but if you prefer cash, it is more important to put the cash in a sealed envelope with the child’s name on it.

If sending a check, please put the child’s name & PIN number in the “memo” section of the check.

If you are having problems or have questions about this process, please call Gail Hollenbeck at 610-938-6023 or email at

Safety and Security Measures for the 2018-19 School Year

All persons entering any school building will be required to present & swipe their driver’s license or state issued ID in the District’s new Raptor Security System; upon running the identification, the system will automatically generate a visitor's pass. Persons without a driver’s license or state-issued identification will still be expected to present a photo ID & will have to meet with building administration to determine building admittance.

As determined by administration, all volunteers who are responsible for the welfare of children must have obtained all security clearances prior to service. Primarily, these volunteers are persons who will chaperone a field trip or volunteer at certain building events identified by administration. Necessary clearances include child abuse clearance, criminal history & an FBI background check (waivers for the FBI check are available for persons who have been residents of Pennsylvania for ten years or longer). Fees for volunteers applying for clearances have been waived by the state, with the exception of the FBI background check, which costs $27.50. Links to obtain clearances are available on the link.

Please inform all persons on your students’ approved pick-up list, or members of your family who may wish to volunteer, of these changes. Should you have any questions, please contact your building principal. As always, the safety & welfare of each student remains our utmost priority. Thank you for your support & understanding as we strengthen district-wide security measures.
