SHS HOME & SCHOOL PANERA FUNDRAISER!
We are excited to announce a 2nd Panera fundraiser this Spring! It's Wednesday, 5/30, 4-8 pm, Springfield Panera, located on Baltimore Pike! We had such a successful fundraiser in January that we wanted to do it again. SHS Home & School doesn't typically fund raise, but, we need to do so now and again to support SHS programming like Alternative Beverage Day, Locker Cleanout, etc.
Simply download, print, show and/or mention flyer for us to receive credit for sale (online or kiosk orders don't count towards the fundraiser). The more sales, the more money we can make! It's as easy as 1-2-3! Plus, who wants to cook if you don't have to, right? Thank you for supporting SHS Home & School and see you then! Any questions, please contact Sharon Kistler @ firstname.lastname@example.org!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW SPIRIT WEAR LEADER!
If you are interested in running Spirit Wear next year, please contact Melissa Chiarlone at email@example.com! She'd be happy to hand over the reigns to you and help you with the transition! We appreciate all of our SHS volunteers!
Mrs. Andrea Kovacs and her family have been running our Hospitality at SHS for several years! After next year, her last child will graduate and we will need a replacement! Next school year would be the perfect time to "shadow" her and her family! Their major events are: Frosh, Snow Dance & Celebration of the Arts!
Please contact any of the SHS Home & School Executive Board and/or Andrea Kovacs if interested! Thank you!

How Can I View SHS Lunch Menus or Make a Lunch Account Payment?
Lunch menus change weekly and can be found by clicking on the link below:
If you need to add money to your child's lunch account, you can do that by following the link below to to the my school bucks website to add funds electronically:
You do not have to make a payment online to use mySchoolBucks.
This website allows you to view your child’s participation account so you can see what they are purchasing and how much money is in the account. This also allows you to make sure money was applied to the account that you paid through mySchoolBucks or by sending a check to school.
If you are sending money to school with your child, please put it in an envelope with the child’s name and grade on the front. It is recommended to send a check but if you prefer cash, it is more important to put the cash in a sealed envelope with the child’s name on it.
If sending a check, please put the child’s name and PIN number in the “memo” section of the check.
If you are having problems or have questions about this process, please call Gail Hollenbeck at 610-938-6023 or email at Gail.Hollenbeck@ssdcougars.org.
The SHS 2017-2018 Student Handbook is a Great Resource!
Do you have a question about the bell schedule? Do you want to check the dress code policy? All of this information and much more can be found in the SHS Handbook. A copy is available online on the SSD website.
Safety and Security Measures for the 2017/18 School Year
BUILDING ADMITTANCE / PHOTO ID SWIPE:
All persons entering any school building will be required to present and swipe their driver’s license or state issued ID in the District’s new Raptor Security System; upon running the identification, the system will automatically generate a visitors’ pass. Persons without a driver’s license or state-issued identification will still be expected to present a photo ID and will have to meet with building administration to determine building admittance.
VOLUNTEERS AND CHAPERONES / BACKGROUND CHECKS AND CLEARANCES:
As determined by administration, all volunteers who are responsible for the welfare of children must have obtained all security clearances prior to service. Primarily, these volunteers are persons who will chaperone a field trip or volunteer at certain building events identified by administration. Necessary clearances include child abuse clearance, criminal history, and an FBI background check (waivers for the FBI check are available for persons who have been residents of Pennsylvania for ten years or longer). Fees for volunteers applying for clearances have been waived by the state, with the exception of the FBI background check, which costs $27.50. Links to obtain clearances are available on the link.
Please inform all persons on your students’ approved pick-up list, or members of your family who may wish to volunteer, of these changes. Should you have any questions, please contact your building principal. As always, the safety and welfare of each student remains our utmost priority. Thank you for your support and understanding as we strengthen district-wide security measures.
UPDATE HAC (HOME ACCESS CENTER)
Please make sure that all of your emergency contact information is up to date, in case of a snow day, late start, early dismissal, etc. Thank you!
